On Thursday, November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S – that's what rockstargames.com/VI says. The countdown above runs to 00:00 your local time.
Rockstar has only confirmed the date, not an unlock time. Unlock times can differ by store and region, so check your platform's store listing – for example, the German PlayStation Store lists November 18, 2026, 23:00 UTC.
According to Rockstar, preloading starts on November 12, 2026 for digital pre-orders. Boxed copies contain a download code instead of a disc and are also on sale from November 12. You can't play until release day.
It's not official yet: neither Rockstar nor the stores list a download or install size. Numbers floating around online are estimates. Free up plenty of space before preload – see our launch checklist.
In the US, $79.99 (Standard Edition) and $99.99 (Ultimate Edition); in the German PlayStation Store €79.99 and €99.99. Pre-orders include the Vintage Vice City Pack, and digital pre-orders also get a month of GTA+. Details: editions & pre-orders.
Only PS5 (incl. PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S have been announced. Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version – reports of a PC date are unconfirmed. GTA 6 isn't coming to PS4 or Xbox One.
So far only a single-player experience has been announced. Rockstar hasn't announced an online mode for GTA 6; GTA Online (for GTA V) continues.
