Instead of fall 2025, Rockstar named a concrete date for the first time on May 2, 2025: May 26, 2026.
On May 2, 2025, Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto VI would no longer arrive in fall 2025, but on May 26, 2026. Rockstar said it needed the extra time to deliver the quality players expect.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the same day that the company supports Rockstar in taking extra time to realize its creative vision.
Note: This date is out of date. Since November 6, 2025, the release date is November 19, 2026.
